Description
ECHA added two new substances to the REACH SVHC Candidate List: n-hexane (EC 203-777-6, CAS 110-54-3) identified for specific target organ toxicity after repeated exposure - marking the first SVHC identified solely on neurotoxicity grounds under Article 57(f) equivalent level of concern; and 4,4'-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethylidene]diphenol (BPAF) and its salts identified for reproductive toxicity under Article 57(c). The Candidate List now contains 253 entries. Companies have until August 4, 2026 (6 months) to submit SCIP notifications for articles containing these substances above 0.1% w/w if quantities exceed 1 tonne per year. Article 33 communication obligations apply immediately.
