Illinois enacts Public Act 104-0424 (SB2469) extending veterinarian e-prescribing exception for controlled substances

Illinois enacted Public Act 104-0424 (SB2469), amending 720 ILCS 570/311.6 (electronic prescribing for Schedule II–V controlled substances). The amendment extends the veterinarian exception to the electronic-prescribing requirement: prescriptions issued by a licensed veterinarian are not required to be electronic within 7 years after November 17, 2023 (previously 2 years).
